snorkeling in Haunama bay is like swimming in a fish bowl. the water is crystal clear and there are all kinds of colorful fish. Natalie took this one of me spinning around in the warm water with Baboon peak in the background.

I'm in Hawaii with Celia and Natalie and it's amazing. we've graduated and can't be in a better place to celebrate. this is also my first self portrait with my new Nikon D200. it's amazing, I can't believe I have such a great camera. I can't wait to experiment with it more.

I've had this idea for a while, so I thought I'd get it out of the way and make room for more new ones. I took a few jumping and it turned into something that reminded me of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland when she fell through the rabbit hole. I'll have to give back the yearbook's DSLR, but I might be getting one of my own soon so I'll be able to take good quality photos without using film. I love film, but sometimes you just need a little more room to mess up, especially for a project like this. I had my sister on the shutter for this, and she sometimes likes to not pay attention while I'm explaining the framing to her.

one
this is the first of fifty two self portraits I will be taking throughout this next year. I'll be posting about one each week, and possibly some of my general thoughts. I have been interested in doing a project like this for a while, and two days ago I shaved my head, so I feel like this is a good time to start. I will be starting a new life after I graduate in two weeks and go to college this fall, so it will be interesting to be able to look back and see how I've changed over this year. here we go.

this is me, straight up. I have brown hair, green eyes, a few freckles, and a little bump on my lip. I have six piercings, two on one ear, three on the other, and one in my nose. I don't wear glasses but I kinda need them. I don't generally wear makeup. my mouth goes to the side a little when I don't know what to do or say. Eric Beeson took this photo for me. he got a good shot after about fifty two tries.
